I worked directly with Ingage to develop a showreel for them. Their purpose was to share some recent work and explain their position as a leading loyalty content agency. They provided me with a script, which I restructured and edited to convey their story effectively. The client wanted the video to look vibrant and modern; with these thoughts in mind, I collected reference images for a mood board.
I produced a storyboard to illustrate the script. The idea was to showcase Ingage's work, which dictated the inclusion of screen captures, statistics, and quotes from live projects. I delivered style frames to demonstrate how I could transfer the design ideas from the mood board to the storyboards. Then, with the style frames approved, I designed the rest of the video. The colourful gradients and fluid patterns reflect the spirit and versatility of the agency's tech-savvy team.
I created the animation mostly using After Effects and leveraged a favourite plugin, Element 3D, for mobile devices. The client was great to work with, having a clear idea of what they wanted while also being open to experimenting with new ideas. My favourite element of the animation is the logo at the beginning. There are many different ways to animate a logo, and I have animated numerous ones over the years. In this case, I particularly like the way the logo spins on out of nowhere, like a sleight of hand, dancing effortlessly onto the screen – a natural mover, just like the agency itself.
